Clinical Observations on Abdominal Tumors in Children

Abstract
A study has been presente3 concerning 31 cases of childhood abdominal tumors, all of which were large enough to be palpable on examination.
Of these 31 cases, 7 cases (22.6%) were Wilms tumors, 5 cases were ovarian tumors, 3 cases were neuroblastoma, hepatoma and hydronephrosis, respectively and the other 10 cases were tumors of various types, a few of them unusual. Clinical manifestations and behavior of the tumors in the miscellaneous group were generally similar and non-specific.
We believe that all children, in whom abnormal tumors are sustained, should be treated in aggressive attack of surgery, with proper use of irradiation and chemotherapy.
Near the half of cases were occupied under the age of 5 years, and the largest group i.e. II cases (35.5%) was in preschool age (1~5 years).
